The latest customer to join our ever-growing fan base was Rosie, who left us some fantastic feedback after booking Hog Roast Billingham for her husband, Ron’s 80th birthday party.
The celebration went ahead earlier this month, right in the couple’s back garden. And with their place backing onto the gorgeous greenery of Wynyard Golf Club, the party couldn’t have happened in a better setting.
30 close friends and family turned out to celebrate Ron’s big milestone, which made for a lovely, laid-back afternoon. And when it came to the catering, Rosie was full of kind words about how smoothly everything ran. She gave a special shout-out to our catering managers – Chris and Kayleigh – for all their efforts on the day. They turned up early, got set up without a fuss, and served a proper summer feast that won over guests of all ages.
To start off, Rosie asked for a few rustic antipasti boards. Simple, but a real hit. There were cured meats, proper Italian cheeses, fresh fruit, crusty bread, and olives.
Then came what most were waiting for: the hog roast. We’d slow-cooked our free-range hog for several hours until the meat was juicy and tender, with perfectly crisp skin on the outside.
After carving, the meat was served with homemade sage and onion stuffing, applesauce, and a mountain of crackling. For anyone not eating meat, we had grilled veggie and halloumi skewers, plus inclusive sides like roasted new potatoes, tomato and mozzarella salad, coleslaw, and mixed greens.
And, to finish off, we served profiteroles and a zingy tarte au citron – both of which went down a treat with the bubbly Rosie had kindly laid on for everyone.
