At Hog Roast Bedale, wedding season is easily one of our busiest – and most rewarding – times of the year. Honestly? We wouldn’t have it any other way. Sure, things can get a little bit hectic from time to time. But nothing beats the feeling of being trusted to cater for such an important day.
From small, laid-back weddings to big lively dos with a couple hundred guests, we always try to build a menu that fits the couple just right. Because, let’s face it, the food can either lift an event or let it down. And with weddings, there’s no room to get it wrong. It has to be memorable, for all the right reasons.
At Hog Roast Bedale, we understand this better than anyone and we work hard behind the scenes to make sure that everything on the day is smooth, seamless and stress-free – because we already know you have enough on your plate without worrying about the food, too!
Earlier this month, Hog Roast Bedale had the pleasure of catering for Josh and Danielle – now Mr and Mrs Barnes – at Camp Katur on the Camp Hill Estate in Bedale. If you haven’t been, you’re really missing out! This stunning location is nestled among 300 acres of fields and woodland, with quirky glamping pods and wide open skies. As far as wedding venues go, Josh and Danielle couldn’t have picked better!
Around 110 guests came along, and plenty stayed overnight. After the ceremony, things moved to the ‘Hay Barn’ – exposed brick walls, long rustic tables, and a splash of soft pink and orange details and shimmery decor added a personal touch. It was warm, intimate, and full of charm.
For their meal, they went with Hog Roast Bedale’s signature whole roasted pig – crispy crackling, applesauce, and sage and onion stuffing included, plus a good spread of rolls and wraps, with gluten-free options covered. Alongside that, they chose tomato and mozzarella salad, a fresh mixed salad, creamy coleslaw, and herby new potatoes.
Rounding out the meal, we also served a whole roasted salmon and a homemade vegetarian and vegan dish, so there really was something for everyone. The sun stayed out, the guests were in a great mood, and the food? Absolutely incredible.
