Weddings come with a lot to think about – decorations, the seating plan, picking outfits, finding the right venue… the list goes on. It can feel like a bit much. That’s where Hog Roast Bramhope steps in. We offer menus you can tailor to suit your day – and your budget – which takes one more thing off your plate.
We’ve been doing this for over 30 years now, and in that time, we’ve learned how to make a wedding meal feel just right. Recently, we got to be part of Chloe and Michelle’s celebration, and it was honestly one to remember.
This loved-up couple picked the wonderful Hallington Mill Holiday Home in Northumberland. This gorgeous old 16th-century mill nestled amidst 35 acres of peaceful countryside, semi-wild gardens, and peaceful ponds, is the kind of place that feels like it’s been untouched for years. Calm, quiet, and perfect for the kind of relaxed, intimate day they had in mind.
And, as Hallington Mill only hosts a handful of weddings each year, in order to maintain the untouched beauty and tranquillity of their site, Hog Roast Bramhope felt especially privileged to be able to cater here.
On the day, we set up just outside the Hay Shed. The weather couldn’t have been better – blue skies, warm sun, rolling hills as the backdrop – it just had that magic feeling.
As we got the BBQ going, the smell of sizzling meat started drifting through the air. We had handmade beef burgers, juicy chicken skewers, BBQ pulled pork, sausages, and sticky ribs – it didn’t take long before guests were wandering over for a look (and a plate!).
And we didn’t forget the veggie and vegan crowd – far from it. We served up colourful grilled veg kebabs, creamy tzatziki, soft flatbreads, and optional halloumi, which went down just as well.
That wasn’t the end, though. You all know how much Hog Roast Bramhope loves our sides and this BBQ spread wouldn’t have been complete without sizzling sweet potato and classic fries, homemade coleslaw, fresh green leaf salad or the army of condiments and seasonings.
By the end of the night, Chloe and Michelle were in great spirits. They were over the moon with the spread Hog Roast Bramhope served and it seems their guests were just as impressed. Barely a crumb remained, and everyone went home with full bellies and wide smiles!
