From aggregates and asphalt to concrete and beyond, Heidelberg Materials UK is a world-leading supplier of heavy building materials with bases all over the UK. You might not have heard of them, but you will have seen the fruits of their labour.
Their materials are regularly used in housing developments, pathways and railways, shaping the future of Britain with high-quality materials that are also kinder to the planet. And when they’re not breaking a sweat at one of their many quarries? You’ll probably catch them giving back to the community, either through donating materials to great causes or getting their hands dirty helping to improve their local neighbourhoods and green spaces.
Needless to say, the team at Heidelberg Materials UK work extremely hard all year round. So, earlier this month, Horton Quarry decided to treat the workers to a well-deserved lunch at their limestone quarry.
Knowing there was only one team up to the task of feeding dozens of hungry workers, they turned to Hog Roast Settle to handle the catering and we certainly didn’t let them down.
Our catering crew rocked (get it?) up to the site and immediately fired up the hog roast. We couldn’t believe how sunny it was and were secretly grateful for our catering gazebo, which stopped us from getting burned.
Another thing that wasn’t burned was the food! Hog Roast Settle prepared the hog roast to absolute perfection. The skin was golden, bubbled and crisp – the kind of crackling that gets people drooling. As for the meat inside? Tender, juicy and oh-so-succulent!
But the hog roast wasn’t the only thing on the menu. We were feeding 70 hungry site-workers, after all! Hog Roast Settle prepared bamboo bowls piled high with coleslaw, fresh salads bursting with colourful veg and rich cheeses and golden fries served with salt, vinegar and optional sauces.
Guests also had the option of piling everything onto fresh-baked baguettes or digging into a plate of goodies. And dig in they did!
By the end of the luncheon, Hog Roast Settle’s buffet was all but gone and the workers were in great spirits.
